What are Clear Aligners?

Correctly aligned teeth can be more attractive and healthier, and obtaining a straighter smile has never been easier. We use invisible braces called clear aligners as these utilise the very latest technology to discreetly and comfortably move teeth into the correct positions.

Clear aligners

Clear aligners are virtually invisible and consist of clear plastic aligners that fit tightly over your teeth, gently moving them into their predetermined positions. Each set of aligners is worn for two weeks for a minimum of twenty two hours every day before being replaced with a fresh set. You can remove the aligners for brushing and flossing, and during mealtimes.

Aligners can correct a number of common orthodontic problems including overcrowded, misaligned or poorly spaced teeth. They are suitable for older teenagers and most adults. Patient compliance is important as the aligners must be worn regularly.  Following completion of aligner treatment, patients will be required to wear retainers, in order to hold the teeth into their new position.
